The goal of chapter 5 of the Handbook for ESG Transformation is to put all the ideas presented in the previous chapters into a handy guideline. In this guideline there will be links to specific articles, so you can move easily back and forth. We encourage you to read chapter 1 - 4 first, before delving into this chapter.
Transformation is all about change. A change in structure and/or composition. In business terms this means a structured approach in changing the business model, the business activities and the business outcomes. As ESG is all about materials, energy and people, ESG business transformation is a structural adaptation to the availability of these three core elements of the economy. This is incentivised by new societal expectations and scientific insights.
