In the beginning (now) CSRD will be about compliance and verifiable reporting. If you look a bit further, the whole idea about the policy instrument is to ignite a transition to a green economy. Raw material and energy dependencies outside the EU have to be met with self sufficiency and circulation of materials and energy in EU markets.
